Club Notes

Happy Christmas to all our members and a huge thank you for all your hard work throughout the year both on and off the field. We hope you have a safe and joyful festive period.

Congratulations to Gillian McCluskey, Tara Byrne Seery and Martin Mitchell who have been selected to play and manage respectively for the 2017 Junior Dub Stars team. Gillian will also captain the side on January 17th.

The mentors party was enjoyed by all on Saturday night after what was another long season a welcome break will come for those who manage our juvenile and adult teams.

Applications for the 2018 Student Bursary are now open and can be made to Paddy Canning via a sealed envelope before the 25th of January. Any further queries can be addressed via the club website.

The annual over 30’s versus under 30’s match will take place on St. Stephens morning. As always fancy dress is encouraged.

There was no winner of the lotto, numbers were 2, 7, 11 and 14. Next draw is €1,800 on the 21st of December.

The annual players party was a huge success on Saturday night and well done to all players and teams who received awards and medals on the night.

The AGM had a good turn out on Friday night and we thank the out going executive committee for their tireless efforts throughout the year and wish the best of luck to the incoming committee.

We remembered members who have passed on Sunday afternoon with the annual club mass and the opening of the club garden was also part of the day.

The club centenary book is now on sale from the bar and is a great stocking filler coming up to the festive season costing only €10.

The annual general meeting of Erin’s Isle GAA club will take place in the club hall on Friday 8th December 2017 at 8 pm. Players party this Saturday.Our Annual Mass takes place on Sunday 10th Dec. In preparation the Erin's Isle Choir will meet on a number of dates to be determined. We really want to make this a special event as we come to the end of our Centenary Year. For more information contact Ann Byrne on 087 6733735.

Our minor camogie team comprehensively won their championship final on Sunday morning against Olaf’s in Parnells GAA club by 5:8 to 0:6. Fantastic individual & team displays let by the player of the match Molly Browne.

The highlight of our centenary celebrations took place in Croke Park on Saturday, thanks to all those who made it happen. It was a great night’s entertainment catching up with those that we may not have seen in some time but will hopefully see more often as we push our great club forward.

We also launched our centenary book on Sunday afternoon which received rave reviews, a lot of unseen work went into this publication and it is a credit to those involved.

Centenary Ball is on this Saturday in Croke Park. The dress code on the night is formal/smart. The Sam Maguire and the Brendan Martin cup will be in the club on Sunday with some special guests.
