Club Notes

The year isn’t over yet! Our minor camogie team play their championship final on Sunday morning at 11.00am against Olaf’s in Parnells GAA club. People may need some fresh air and what a better way to get it than supporting our girls.

Please don’t forget to complete the online questionnaire/survey. It should take less than 15 minutes to complete, this is the membership’s opportunity to help in the future decision making process.

Centenary Ball is on this Saturday in Croke Park. The dress code on the night is formal/smart. The Sam Maguire and the Brendan Martin cup will be in the club on Sunday with some special guests.

We now have physical & electronic copies for the sponsorship brochure, anyone who either knows someone that may provide sponsorship or anyone who wants to get involved please let me know.

Our senior hurlers continue their journey in the Leinster Junior championship with a 4 point victory against Trumera of Laois. We play St Mogues Fethard from Wexford in O’Toole Park next Saturday. Before that they play Peregrines in the league decider on Monday at noon. Beacuse I have to send this before the match I don’t know the score!

The U14 boys brought home the silverware on Sunday with their win in the Shay Carthy Memorial cup, after qualifying through their group undefeated they met Round Towers in the final in which they eventually won 3-9 to 1-3 with of the team being put forward for player of the Tournament Tadgh Gorman, Ryan Thornton & Timmy with Ryan getting the vote by the referees. 2 days, 3 championship finals & 3 championship final wins, what a fantastic weekend for the U14, U15 & U16 girl’s football teams. It would be unfair to pick out individuals as so many of the girls had outstanding performances over the two days in difficult conditions. While it shouldn’t all be about winning it is nice when we experience a memorable weekend such as this, it’s a great habit to get into and hopefully other teams will get the opportunity to taste similar success.

A race night in aid of Feile 2018 will be held next Sunday 29th starting at 4pm. This will be a great family event and a fantastic way to help the Feile teams next year. The second round of the Leinster Junior hurling championship is due on Saturday. If you haven’t seen it already check out our promotional video on UTube.
