The sun shone down on the pitch outside the gate on Sunday morning but more dazzling than the sun was the performance of our U10 football team against Sylvester’s. From the first throw in the girls were fierce in both attack and defence. Superb use of their hand passing, near hand tackles and team work ensured victory for all three teams.

It is great to see the hard work in training paying off on the on the pitch. Some of today's strongest performances up front were from Emma Brennan and Caitlyn Barrett. Strong in defence were Amiee Peters, Megha Natch and Sophie Bradley. Niamh Fagan, McKenzie Lowe, Lexie Cleary and Ella Hazel also played key roles in today’s victory. Player of the day has to go to Niamh Moran for her dogged determination and never say die attitude throughout the game. The future of ladies football in Isles is in safe hands!

A big congrats to the Dublin ladies U14 football team who won their Leinster final and especially to Rugile who had a fantastic performance in goal.

Another polished performance by the Intermediate Camogie Team on Thursday 04/05/17 away to Raheny. The girls won 7-3 to 1-5. An amazing performance from this dedicated bunch of girls/ ladies, excellent team spirit and a fantastic drive to win. You are a credit to our club. Well done.

Well done to our players of the month for April, Eva and Erin Mooney and Senan Fannin and also to the most improved player Matilda Gaffney.

The U14 boys maintained their 100% football record with a 7-11 to 2-9 win over St Bridgids Special mention to Alex Matthews who scored 4-5 ( Should have scored 6-8).

Well done to our Minor footballers who beat St Vincents 1-18 to 0-7.

Well done to our senior hurlers who drew against commercials in the championship, if one or two more decisions went our way we would have been comfortable winners.

The Senior 5 Camogie Team had a convincing win against Lucan Sarsfields in Isles on Thursday night. The Inters came out victors with a 3-11 to 2-5 score line. Again there was an amazing team performance by this young squad of players. Great to see the youth and passion from this squad and Camogie is looking very positive for the future in the club with these young players.

The last of the Feile competitions was held this weekend in St Olafs, our hurlers did us proud but even with 2 victories they lost out on points and so did not make it into the qualifiers.

We cannot hide from the fact that our senior footballers were comprehensively beaten last week, did we deserve to lose? Absolutely, Crokes were a fitter & stronger team. The time for finger pointing is over and we all need to pull in the same direction, ultimately we all want the same outcome but we as a group of like mined individuals need to map the best route forward to bring our great club back to prominence at all levels across all codes.

The Intermediate footballers lost narrowly to Na Fianna on Saturday but performed valiantly with a good mix of youth and experience fielding 11 x U21’s, our Intermediate camogie having 14 x U18’s are also leading the charge with some excellent young players.

Great wins for the Junior footballers in the championship against O’Dwyers and the U15 hurlers against St Marks with an excellent hatrick by man of the match Christian Lowe. A special well done to Neil Matthews who played centre back for the Dublin minors in their victory against Meath, your extended Isles family are extremely proud of your achievements to date.

Last weekend was the 3rd successive weekend hosting a Feile competition, on this occasion we hosted 2 groups or eight teams. While our camogie girls were unfortunate not to get through their group they played their hearts out and they should be very proud of themselves. Anyone who has attended one of these weekends would have witnessed a fantastically well-organized event by a team of excellent volunteers who have received well deserved plaudits from all concerned.
